Job Summary: Financial Controller

Citrusbyte is looking for a detail oriented, organized team member who can be a partner to operations and is comfortable overseeing the financial and accounting functions for a rapidly growing software consulting company. 

Location: Los Angeles area, with remote work/tele-commute acceptable

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the month-end close process, including the preparation of the monthly financial package, P&L reports, preparing journal entries and management reports
  • Manage all aspects of accounting including, general ledger, collections, payables, payroll, fixed assets, taxes, and job cost accounting
  • Work closely with outside accounting firm to prepare data to support tax preparation and tax filing
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Responsible for the maintaining the integrity of the companies chart of accounts
  • Supervise a small staff of individuals managing performance development, cross training and recruitment
  • Responsible for preparing annual budgets and facilitating audits
  • Responsible for preparing data and metrics for company forecasting
  • Work with senior management to analyze business unit performance, providing insight and support for decision making. On a monthly basis hold P&L meetings with senior management
  • Improve, Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Assists with special projects as required. Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Position requires bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting with 2 years of supervisory experience and advanced certification (CPA)
  • Complete understanding of US GAAP standards
  • Experience in related industries including software consulting, technology, software development is required
  • Relevant system and computer skills required, including proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, TriNet payroll suite, Quickbooks, and Abacus.
  • Experience with financial system implementation
  • Experience with software development contracts, Master Service Agreements and SOWs
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, under minimal supervision, while effectively meeting tight deadlines
  • Team player, self motivated and able to take ownership of assigned task(s)
  • Effective organizational, analytical, problem solving skills
  • Must be comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment
